The Light Between Oceans: A Novel - M.L. Stedman I'm not sure what to make of this book... I definitely don't think it deserved the Goodreads' Historical fiction book of the year. There were much better books than this that I've read on that list. It was extremely slow getting into it but the good chunk in the middle of the book was good and wanting to read. However the ending... Jesus, could you write a worst ending? I wanted to smack Hannah upside the head and be like Seriously lady? without them, your baby would have died. Do you not understand she won't be a baby. UG It was just bad... I really hated the ending. It was an okay book but yah, definitely not the book that deserved the historical fiction book of the year. Not only was the ending horrible, but there was little to no historical fiction, other than mentioning Tom was a solider/survivor of World War I. Along with these two things, the author puts in a lot of Australian slang and doesn't explain it and it drove me nuts
